Where in the world is packgen?
You can find us in the city of Auburn, in the great state of Maine, and within 30 miles of 65% of the state’s population. We are just off the Interstate 95 (aka the Maine Turnpike) and situated next to the Lewiston-Auburn Airport and the Auburn Intermodal Facility. Our company is located within Auburn’s 760-acre Foreign Trade Zone, which is considered outside the territory of U.S. Customs and therefore reduces or eliminates Customs entry procedures as well as import and export duties for most items.
Auburn and its sister city, Lewiston, are vibrant communities full of business, education, healthcare and recreation resources. Our city is conveniently located at the center of a wide array of transportation options for both people and goods, making it one of the most accessible locations in Maine and the Northeast. Since nearly 70 million people in the Northeastern United States and Canada are within 600 miles of Auburn, it’s an ideal location for distribution. Boston, Burlington, New York City, Rochester, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Pittsburg, Baltimore and Washington DC are all within easy striking distance, as are Moncton, Halifax, Montréal, Québec, Toronto and Ottawa.
With our headquarters here, packgen enjoys great proximity to Maine’s largest urban areas—just five minutes from downtown Lewiston-Auburn and 40 minutes from lively Portland— which gives us easy access to cultural, educational, social and recreational opportunities, as well as an international airport. And, Boston is an easy 2-hour drive; central and southern New England are 3-4 hours away.
Both the Canadian National Auburn Intermodal Terminal, linking rail to trucking transportation, as well as the Lewiston-Auburn Airport, are right next to packgen. In addition, an Interstate 95 (the Maine Turnpike) interchange is just a half a mile away. The intermodal facility — the largest container port in Maine — provides one of the only double-track services in New England. Tracks run from Halifax to Vancouver, Northern Ontario to New Orleans. Products are routinely shipped to and received from Asia as well.
Our Local Airport
The 547-acre Auburn-Lewiston Airport sees daily corporate, charter, cargo and recreational air traffic; over 65% of Maine’s population lives and works within a 30-mile radius. Its two runways can handle medium-haul cargo jets, and the airport has reliably been used for flights carrying time-sensitive documents requiring daily processing.
International Highway Route
Interstate 95 (the Maine Turnpike), the East Coast’s major north-south highway, runs from Houlton, Maine (and into Atlantic Canada) to Miami, providing easy access from packgen to a large population base and the country’s highway network.
