“Our company has used the Packgen Cougar bags and we are very happy and very confident with using them. Predominantly we have used them for packaging pyrophoric spent catalyst being transported from Australia to Europe for metals reclamation and regeneration.

Provided the correct technique is strictly adhered to, when filling the bags, and particularly when filling with pyrophoric spent catalyst, ensuring the bags are correctly purged with nitrogen to ensure no oxygen is inside the bags, then there can be no chance of the spent catalyst self-combusting.

The bags can also be used for all non-pyrophoric spent catalyst and in an all cases this is a good way of reducing costs in comparison to using drums due to the reduced labour required to handle the bags. Also you will achieve loading more spent catalyst per container reducing transportation costs. The transportation of the new empty bags is obviously a far better option to freighting “solid form containers” (drums or flow bins) full of air!

We have been using these bags for approximately 8-9 years and have no record of any incident relating to the failure of these bags in any way, shape or form. Packgen stand proudly behind their products and have always been very accommodating in all service requirements.

I trust this will help you in making a decision in the use of these bags and I am happy to answer any other questions you may have.”

“Our experience with the rigid collapsible Cougar containers has been very positive and provided a number of safety and ergonomic benefits over flow bins and 200 liter drums/barrels. Some of the advantages are that our forklift drivers are able to drive forward with full containers and we are able to stage the equivalent of 50 flow bins of empty Cougar containers very close to the reactor (in limited space) allowing us to swiftly move empty containers in and full containers out from the reactor saving precious time and money. Our multi-skilled workforce adapted quickly to this technology, which increased our performance and productivity, while maintaining a safety record that sets us apart from others in the industry.”

“Using Cougar containers has helped control the costs associated with precious metals catalysts reclamation. Cougar containers reduce the iron scale contamination, thus reducing penalties for iron contamination. We also appreciate that loading Cougar containers into closed vans is safer (forklift drivers can see over the top) and easier. Additionally, the use of Cougar sacks significantly reduces our transportation costs.”
