Most popular product

(Auburn ME) – Maine’s pioneering leader of industrial packaging announces it will be launching a new training video to support the groundbreaking Cougar Catainer — the first composite catalyst container designed specifically for national and international transportation of spent and fresh catalyst. packgen (always a small “p” and bold “gen”), located at 65 First Flight Drive in Auburn, Maine, will now offer visual and verbal, easy to utilize, step-by-step instruction on the receipt, unpacking, staging, filling, and secure sealing of the Pop-Up style Cougar, a revolutionary packing solution for the oil refinery industry.

“We see this training video as yet another way we can provide highly customized assistance to our expanding portfolio of worldwide customers,” confirmed John Lapoint III, President of packgen. “Our Cougar Catainer has been making a difference for companies who appreciate innovation and reliability. To maximize its potential, and get customers’ staff fully oriented with its innovative handling and use, we thought a short training video was the way to go. We’re now in the final editing stages, and expect this new training tool to be available within the coming weeks. We are always looking for fresh ways to keep our unique packaging solutions utilized to their fullest potential, and expect this video to further our mission.”

Under the aegis of producer Celest Horton, packgen regional sales manager, the new training video will cover the steps from arrival of the packstack, (packgen’s innovative package of compacted Cougar Catainers on a single pallet), to the final secure sealing off and complete closure and cover of the fully loaded Cougar. With audio voiceover as well as graphic subtitles, the visual and verbal story will explain how to best maximize the Cougar’s potential, and how to best secure its contents. In addition to providing on-site supervisory services (called CatMoves) for Cougar Catainer customers, Ms. Horton, a safety-certified CatBoss and chemical engineer, will narrate the video, bringing her unique scientific and professional perspective to the project.

packgen expects the new training video to be available through its web site and in DVD format.

Cougar Containers for Catalyst Handling

by Chris Lawrence

Contract Resources use the Packgen ‘Cougar’ container for both new and spent Catalyst. This ensures Contract Resources are able to work efficiently on Catalyst change outs; reducing downtime for plants and refineries. The Cougar containers are UN approved for pyrophoric catalyst. Containers arrive flat on site, and can hold 1m of product when filled. As the containers are lightweight they reduce the manual handling issues associated with using drums, and space issues in potentially cramped refinery environments are avoided. Cougars are also designed to stack in a standard shipping container; ensuring the most volume possible can be moved at once.
